Which Kind of Halter Do Equines Prefer Most?
I haven’t seen my lesson horse in months and when I went a few weeks ago, he looked sad to see me, like he REALLY REALLY missed me.
I want to make it up to him and get him a new halter… but which kind do horses like most? He has no allergies to any kind of material in any halter. I have pictures below of the different kinds of halters that I had in mind.

Well, I don’t think your horse is going to be too picky when it comes to a halter. Most of my horses prefer a leather one, perhaps because it’s a bit more comfortable when it gets hot out. In my honest opinion, if you want to “make it up to your horse” why don’t you do something that will make your horse happier than a new halter! To be honest, most horses don’t care about that kind of stuff-they’re not humans. Give him a treat, a deep grooming, take him for a trail ride, or just give him some extra TLC. I’m sure he’ll be grateful either way!
