How do I adjust the belt on a Internationl cub tractor.?
I have a 1960s or so Internationl cub tractor.
The deck was replaced recently with a newer woods 42 inch deck. Since then I have been having problems throwing the belt and burning bearings in the 2 idler pullies below the drive pully.
How do you properly adjust belt tension? I know 1 pully is normally lower than the other and they need to be just right for it to work properly.
What is the process for adjusting?

Hi, I have a Cub Cadet mower that I bought new about 1993. It is a 2160 Tractor with a 42″ deck. After the original drive belt to the mower deck had to be replaced, I tried to use auto store belts. They lasted only a short while. I discovered that the pulleys and belts are made to match. I ordered Cub Cadet belts and things worked well for a short time. Later, the problem with belts being worn early happened again. I discovered that the auto store belts had worn the front pulleys and I had to replace them also. Since then I have had no problems. I suspect that since your have had the deck replaced the pulleys and belts may not match. Hope this helps.
