What would a “flail mower” be used for?

Hello! I am looking to pick up a “small” tractor that comes with a “flail mower”. I realize a “flail mower” cuts using chain links as opposed to a conventional blade like a Lawn Mower. What type of area would a “flail mower” be used for, “rough cutting” an overgrown field or to “fine cut” a lawn?

Thank your advice!

For areas where lightly to encounter rocks woody vegetation, and as you suggest rough cutting an overgrown field, the system is the heaviest system for heavy duty work.and can take knocks that other types would fail at.
