What’s the average lifespan of a car starter?
The starter on my ’96 Ford Taurus died in September of 2006. How long should I expect my brand new starter to last? I drive daily, but not far from home and average maybe 5-10 car ignition starts per day. Last year was the first time I ever had a starter go on a car, so I’m just trying to find out how long they last usually. Thanks for your help.
about 6000 to 7000 clean starts – when it gets cranky cut it in half. don’t touch the throttle pedal wile cranking. if you feel the need to (or) its stumbling on acceleration you need to use some zippo lighter fluid to clean the throttle plate.
