Can you use a conventional square baler with a Ferguson 35 tractor?
if so, what horsepower is needed to run a conventional square baler?
Depends on the capacity of the baler and what you are baling. If you are using an old MF 20 baler, then it shouldn’t be a problem. I’ve baled hundreds of acres with a 35 or 135. Hay is probably easier than straw because the swaths are usually lighter. The wide swaths from modern combines make small balers grunt a bit. Up hill or down, shouldn’t be a problem. Baler should take about 20-30 hp. The load peaks but is smoothed out by the flywheel.
