Applying Lime, Potash and manure at the same time?
Will there be any adverse affects if I add Limestone, Sulfate of Potash and sheep manure at the same time to the sandy soil in my vegie garden before rotary hoeing?
Lime neutralizes nitrogen. So adding lime and manure at the same time is a big ol’ waste of money since they cancel each other out.
That’s why farmers add a thick layer of lime to the soil before they heap on the manure to let it compost. It keeps the nitrogen from seeping away and into our water.
