how do you install a belt drive for pto 2 deck on john deere 110?
well it all depenfs because john deere has made 3 different 110s over the years in early 1963 had a round fender 110 then in late sixtys early seventys change the body to a square fender style 110 then in most recent years they have had a 100 and l110 which are a new style. plus you also have different sizes of decks but they all have same concept on how they work major difference is some have verticle engines and some have horizontal engines. So this effects how the belt is hook to the motor. I figure the easiest way to tell you how to do this seeing how you don’t have the serial no or can tell what series of 110 have is to jack mower up so you can see how belt is routed. I have found that to get tension of the belt makes it real easy to undo deck mounts, liff arms on certian models because most the time its just a pull pin. should be able to free deck from lift arm mounts so you can roll mower deck forward. But another way is to find the tensioner idler and either adjust it to a looser setting or use a bar ot remove. But if you have problem undo those deck mounts and take all covers off of top of mower deck if it is a new one. This would let you see how the belt is driven. Just come knowledge thinking you should be able to see what makes the belt tight and also how the belt is routed make sure if your like me draw a picture before you take it off that way you know how it goes back on because on older ones there are no belt diagrams. plus if you get the deck belt messed up for some reason you dont want the blades turning backwards. if you update your post I will get you a picture of belt routing and explain this a lot better if you can tell me what series of 110 you have serial or year. thanks jeff
