Can i cross a New Hampshire Rooster with a Rhode Island red hen to get Eggers.?
I want to breed my rhode island red hens and buy a new hampshire rooster to get some excellent eggers. Is this right? if not, can you tell me what other breed as a male will produce exellent “eggers”. Alos Can you tell me what the difference between a New Hampshire and a New Hampshire Red?

Hi,
Why not try another cross, Rhode Island reds X Light sussex. This is an excellent pairing and will give you auto sexed chicks too. The chicks will come out in two colours, white (male) and brown (female)
The males can be grown on for the table giving you a bird about 6lbs, and the pullets will lay many eggs.
