How can I fix a fuel gauge in my commodore?

My fuel gauge is being annoying. Sometimes it works, then sometimes it doesn’t and just sits on Empty.
I also think that when it does work, that it also sometimes gives me the wrong readings.
Can anyone help me to fix this up?

P.S. I have a VP commodore if that helps.

it’s a bad ground on the sending unit in the tank… you would need to take off the tank… remove the sending unit clean everything, replace the gasket, put it all back together, without exploding the tank…..
