I have inherited two goats kikos one buck and one doe and?
I was wondering if I could find out anything about them through ear tag ID and if so how do I go about it?
You could find out if they are registered by going to the American Kiko goat registry. There might be a “Herd tag search” or a “tattoo finder”. Or, you could email them and ask them if they can find you the information. There is also an International Kiko Goat Registry. You could try looking there. Again, you can email them directly and see if they’ll help.
However, if the eartag is like the ones they use for Scrapie ID, then you would have to contact your state’s Board of Animal Health. You can then give them the numbers on the tag, and they could probably tell you where the goats came from.
